Wrestler, Rockstar and Producer, Chris Jericho talks about his latest documentary, “Vietslam: Squashing The Cultural Gap.”

I recently spoke with global wrestling icon Chris Jericho about his new documentary, “Vietslam: Squashing The Cultural Gap,” which begins streaming July 14, 2026.

The sports documentary produced by Jericho, tells the story of the birth of Vietnam’s independent professional wrestling scene, highlighting how wrestling can unite people across cultures and backgrounds. Blending action, humor and heartfelt moments, “Vietslam,” follows a group of passionate wrestlers as they work to build a community and earn acceptance for the sport in Vietnam.

From makeshift training gyms to a breakout public showcase, the film chronicles the determination and resilience required to establish an independent wrestling movement. More than a wrestling documentary, “Vietslam,” explores themes of perseverance, passion and believing in something larger than yourself.

Jericho, a global wrestling star with a career spanning more than 35 years, has competed for every major wrestling promotion and won more than 30 championships. In addition to his in-ring accomplishments, he has remained committed to expanding professional wrestling’s global reach. Through “Vietslam,” he hopes to shine a spotlight on Vietnam’s emerging wrestling scene and demonstrate the sport’s ability to bring people together.
