I spoke with co-star Vincent Spano and executive producer, director and writer, Brad Dickson about the world premiere of the mockumentary of what it takes to make it in the film industry entitled, ‘Dave Vs. Hollywood‘ coming to Dances With Films: Los Angeles on Friday, June 26, 2026.
After a fruitless struggle, Dave (Preston Tyler Ward) decides to make his mark by taking a non-traditional, unorthodox, “anything goes” approach where he joins AA purely to make connections, joins Scientology purely to network, considers donating a kidney to an aging movie star in exchange for a role in the star’s latest film, leaves his headshot and reel on the windshields of vehicles outside the Brentwood church where a studio executive’s funeral is taking place and more.
During our conversation, we discuss the strangest rejects from a project, getting ghosted by casting directors and what it takes to make a mockumentary that satirizes the creative process.
