I spoke with Erin Miracle about the Miracle Makers International Film Festival, coming to Big Newport in Newport Beach, CA, September 2 through 6, 2026. The family friendly festival will bring together inspiring films and uplifting media that explore faith, spirituality, hope and meaningful stories that can speak to both faithful audiences and the secular community.
Miracle Makers is an ecumenist (interdenominational), festival welcoming Roman Catholic, Eastern and Oriental Orthodox, Protestant and Evangelical Christians to come together and share in the events. The festival also welcomes people from outside the Christian faith who are drawn to inspiring and uplifting entertainment. There are five different pass tiers along with a family plan for up to four immediate family members for the day, in order to see multiple films and attend various panels.
The program reaches far beyond traditional cinema. Audiences can experience short films, full length features, documentaries, podcasts, music videos and other forms of creative media. The festival recognizes storytelling in both established and emerging formats, creating a broad platform for artists with something meaningful to share.
According to Erin Miracle, the festival was created as a global platform for storytellers whose work inspires people, brings hope and has the potential to create lasting change. With more than 80 award categories, Miracle Makers recognizes a wide range of creative work including feature films, documentaries, podcasts, web series, YouTube productions, music videos, dance, visual arts, books and more.
The festival includes both Faith and Open Divisions, giving creators from different backgrounds an opportunity to participate while maintaining a focus on entertainment that can have a lasting and meaningful impact.
