Laith Nakli and David Ketterer Spencer Talk 'Souvenir' World Premiere at DWF:LA - Interview
Co-star Laith Nakli and writer-director David Ketterer Spencer talk about their film 'Souvenir' making its world premiere at DWF:LA.
Making its World Premiere on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 3 p.m. at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre as part of Dances With Films Los Angeles, ‘Souvenir‘ is the new indie dramedy from writer-director David Ketterer Spencer.
I spoke with Spencer and co-star Laith Nakli, who plays the late self-help guru Fidias Sipko, about the film’s blend of buddy comedy, mystery and drama, its eccentric characters and the friendships that endure long after the adventure ends giving a true 1990s vibe. I’ll freely admited to the duo that my childhood crush on co-star Janeane Garofalo immediately caught my attention, adding to ‘Souvenir‘s quirky sensibility.
Synopsis:
Starring Ruby Cruz as Dani and Eric Berryman as Kevin, ‘Souvenir‘ follows two old friends whose attempt to return the lost wallet of a deceased self-help guru turns into an unexpected journey through New York City. Along the way, they encounter litigious heirs, terrible poetry, a mysterious watch, and unresolved feelings that force them to confront life-changing decisions.
‘Souvenir‘ comes to Dances With Films Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the TCL Chinese Theatre.
